Partial Charge Invoices

What are partial charges?

Partial charges occur when our invoicing system tries to bring the payment period for all services on your account into line with each other. 

Because we only issue one routine invoice per month/quarter/year (depending on your payment frequency), we sometimes have to issue a part charge on a service to ensure that it is billed at the same time as other services on your account.

An example of a part charge

If you sign up for a VoIP number with Goldfish.ie on the 1st of March, then we’ll charge you for the first month on that number (from the 1st to 31st of March in this case).

Now let’s say, for the sake of the example that you subsequently subscribe to a fax number later on, on the 6th of March. Again, on sign up, we will charge you for the first month on the number, in this case, you will be charged from the 6th of March to the 5th of April.

When we come to invoice you on the 1st of April, we will issue an invoice for your first number from the 1st of April to the 30th of April, but your second number (the fax number) has already been partially charged for April, so we will raise a part charge from 6th April to 30th April. The partial element will be worked out on a 30 day month. 

This means that by the time your May invoice is issued, for example, all services on your account will be onto the same billing period.

Partial charges also apply to quarterly and annual bills but can be a little more complex, depending on the account.
